**TITLE OF POST: MEDICAL SECRETARY, HADLEIGH, SUFFOLK**

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:SENIOR SECRETARY/PRACTICE MANAGER**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
To provide an efficient and timely secretarial and administration service to the clinicians and management team.

**HOURS**

3 days, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9.30am - 5.00pm (1 hour for lunch)

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs, Managers and other health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- Administer the E-referral system and send referral letters.
- Send E- referrals by the appropriate means.
- General typing and secretarial duties.
- To liaise and arrange meetings as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
- To liaise with secondary care provides re: appointments, bookings and admissions as required.
- To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
- Dealing with SAR requests following the correct GDPR systems/protocols.
- Maintain private income invoice system and spread sheet.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- To maintain the computer clinical system in an accurate and secure manner.
- To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave if required.
- To dispatch mail and maintain system.
- Undertake mandatory training.

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE**:

- A good understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of Caldicott and Data Protection
- Excellent typing, keyboard and general IT skills
- Accuracy

- Knowledge of the SystmOne clinical system

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.32-£13.32 per hour

Expected hours: 19.5 per week
