A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Medical Secretary to join our team in Child Health at Ipswich Hospital

We are looking for an efficient, conscientious, well-motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Medical secretary, with the skills to provide dedicated clerical support to both the clinical and operational team.

This post will be based at Ipswich Hospital, and you will be part of hard working, well-established, high achieving and committed team.

You will be responsible for working independently, providing a full range of secretarial and administrative support and therefore must be highly organised and show the ability to prioritise a busy workload. This will include planning for and managing the secretarial team.

You will be expected to provide consistent higher level, comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administrative support.

You will utilise and incorporate the required technology/hospital systems including Big Hand/PAS/Evolve/Lorenzo and any other new technology or system(s) that are introduced including demand/capacity tools.

You will be expected to provide a lead role in the smooth organisation of the department and an advanced secretarial/administration service to the medical teams. Using your own initiative, managing, prioritising, planning and organising your own time using extensive knowledge, skills and experience.

You will b responsible for managing the processes to aid the continuance of the service in the absence of the clinicians or any member of the team maintaining the highest standard.

You will provide leadership and support to the secretarial team and to be a ‘Team Player’ working in a way that encourages high performance from other staff, with the aim of maintaining optimum efficiency within the department. To support other team members to deliver an efficient administrative and secretarial service
