The main purpose of this role is the operation, review and development of key actuarial calculations and processes critical to the financial reporting for SJP plc and/or key subsidiaries.

**What you will be doing**:

- the actuarial inputs to financial reporting.
- the actuarial inputs to regulatory submissions.
- the financial projections to support business planning, capital management and risk assessment.
- the development, maintenance, documentation and validation of actuarial systems.
- the analysis of the company’s experience (e.g. lapses and expenses)
- Drafting key reports communicating the results of SJP plc and entity financial reporting exercises.
- Ensuring proper operation, implementation, maintenance and development of controls to safeguard the accuracy of actuarial outputs produced.
- Supervising the work of actuarial assistants/technicians as required to meet the responsibilities above.
- Providing actuarial advice and input for cross-functional or finance projects.
- Knowledge of principles underlying actuarial cash-flow modelling, knowledge of SQL and other programming languages (e.g. VBA, R, Python) an advantage.
- Strong computing skills, particularly Excel, but skills in other relevant computing packages an advantage and exceptional analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to communicate core technical matters clearly and concisely in an appropriate format.
- Strong relationship building skills with key stakeholders and others.
