The Head of Business Compliance and Risk is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance and risk management functions within Hyperoptic. This position involves overseeing and implementing effective compliance and risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures throughout the organization in order that Hyperoptic adheres to its regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices whilst effectively identifying, managing and mitigating risks. The Head of Business Compliance and Risk collaborates with various departments to promote a culture of compliance, risk and ESG awareness, while providing strategic guidance to senior management on compliance and risk-related matters.

**What will you be doing?**

**Compliance Management**:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with legal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations through collaboration with other departments and assess their impact on the organization's operations and processes.

**Risk Management**:

- Identify, assess, and prioritize potential risks across the organization, including operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks.
- Develop and ensure business implementation of risk management strategies, policies, controls and procedures to mitigate identified risks.

**Policy Development and Implementation**:

- Develop and update compliance and risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines, in line with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Ensure policies and procedures are effectively communicated, understood, and implemented across the organization.

**Stakeholder Collaboration**:

- Engage with senior management, board members, and relevant committees to provide regular updates on compliance and risk management activities, issues, and recommendations.
- Foster a culture of compliance and risk awareness by promoting training, communication, and engagement across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as Legal, Finance, HR, and IT, to ensure alignment and coordination in compliance and risk management efforts.

**What are we looking for?**
- Extensive experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, with a proven track record in a leadership role
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the organization's sector.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and training initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and assess risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to build and motivate teams, manage change, hold people to account and drive a culture of compliance and risk management
- Ability to think strategically, provide practical solutions, and make sound decisions in complex and evolving regulatory environments.
- Professional certifications in compliance and risk management (e.g., CCEP, CRCM, CRMA) are highly desirable.
