We have an exciting new opportunity for a Salesforce Specialist to join the Rhodes Trust. This role will actively work to ensure the on-going development, maintenance and operation of the Trust’s Salesforce initiatives.

**The role**

The Salesforce Specialist plays a key role in the on-going development, maintenance and operation of the Trust’s Salesforce instances. Working within the Salesforce & Data team this role works with Stakeholders to modify existing and deliver new Salesforce solutions, and develops new reports, dashboards and intelligence to support and enhance the Trust’s business processes. This role will be on a rota with other staff to act as a first point of contact for Salesforce (and related apps) user enquiries, owns investigation and resolution of complex support issues. While some of this work will be BAU this role will be involved in the maintenance and enhancement of existing customisations as well as the development of new functionality using Apex, JavaScript, Lightning Web Components and other Developer tools.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements to existing customisations built with Apex triggers, Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, CSS, Flows and Process Builder.
- Proactively contribute to developing and improving Salesforce functionality, using programmatic tools where necessary, ensuring functionality is aligned to organisational needs while adhering to best practices and maintaining system integrity.
- Help to manage the Trust's deployment processes using Gearset, GitHub and VSCode.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support of Salesforce and related systems, including Zapier and FormAssembly, and the data that resides there. Provide consultancy during the selection of future 3rd party services and deliver technical configuration and development work to integrate these services into Salesforce.
- Support developments aimed at enhancing data quality, working closely with operational departments.
- Support colleagues across the organisation and our partner programmes (Atlantic Institute, Schmidt Science Fellows and RISE) in their developing use of Salesforce. Identify and anticipate user training needs from new recruits to on-going top-up training, as required to help colleagues achieve their objectives. Provide training and support to Super-Users across the Trust.
- Set up reports and assist all departments with reconciliation of their data; help colleagues turn business requirements into meaningful and insightful reports and dashboards.
- Manage, monitor and maintain user accounts, support system security, including organisational, departmental and individual access controls, and password protection including transferring ownership of accounts/contacts/opportunities. Ensure that the organisation works within the boundaries of data protection legislation and follows all relevant benchmarking guidelines for the protection of personal information and the privacy of individuals.
- As and when required, proactively support the wider team and assist with supporter and customer care enquiries

**Essential skills and experience**:

- Salesforce Administrator, and Platform Developer I certified.
- Significant operational Salesforce experience
- CICD / DevOps experience and experience using source control and automated validation and deployment tools (e.g. VSCode / Gearset, Salesforce DX, Jira and Git/Github).
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to customise using programmatic and declarative tools. Experience working with Apex, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, CSS, Flows and Process Builder.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality, including day to day health check and maintenance processes.
- Experience with developing Salesforce Community / Experience Cloud solutions.
- Strong data management abilities.
- Ability to communicate technical areas to those with less expertise.
- Self-management and prioritisation skills are essential.

**Desirable skills and experience**:

- Salesforce Advanced Administrator and Platform Developer II certified
- Experience in the charity or education sector including Nonprofit Cloud.
- Experience providing training to end users as well as supporting Super-Users.
- Experience working with third party developers & 3rd line support.
