Head of Learning and Development

Alliance Automotive Group are a leading distributor of light and commercial vehicle parts to the independent aftermarket in UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal. We service independent repairers, body shops, auto centres,fast fit companies and end consumers with parts and equipment through a network of national and regional logistics platforms as well as networks of local distributors comprising our own subsidiaries and independent affiliates. Alliance Automotive Group areproud to be the home of the NAPA Racing UK British Touring car team.
Due to growth and expansion of the team, we are looking for a Head of Learning and Development. This is a newly created position and will join the HR leadership team, reporting directly into the HR Director. Leading a team of three L&D professionals, youwill be fully accountable for the design and delivery of all training across the Group, with scope to truly step-change our training and development offering for our business and help our People grow. This is a hands on role.
**Duties**:
- Work closely with our HR Director and senior operational leaders to design programmes, assessing skill shortages and providing programmes to fill these gaps whilst building strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Work alongside our senior leadership team, mapping learner journeys to ensure our colleagues have access to a range of interventions to support in developing capability
- Create and develop leadership programmes for new and existing leaders to develop their skills and maximise their strengths
- Provide the tools and frameworks to ensure that colleagues who want to develop can have access to a range of appropriate opportunities
- To work with the HR Director to design and deliver the L&D strategy, assessing priority and future needs and developing leadership/talent development plans and programmes that drive culture change, high performance and support the broader aims of the organisation,as well as support the development of a learning culture where all employees are equipped to drive and manage their own development.
- To provide and deliver a proactive, efficient and flexible service in regard to Learning & Development, matters such as: apprenticeship programmes, mandatory training, formal qualifications, graduate schemes, succession planning, organisational developmentand ad hoc project work.
- Design and deliver in-house courses, as appropriate.
- Liaising with the European L&D team to ensure consistent approach across jurisdictions.
- Experience in leading a learning and development team.
- Demonstrable experience in defining and delivering a strategic L&D plan.
- Knowledge of up to date organisational design and L&D practices.
- Experience of change management, project management and transformational delivery.
- Knowledge of procedural and behavioural change best practise.
- Experience of managing and maintaining an e-learning platform.
- Experience of Workday implementation.
- Strong experience of designing learning interventions and a proven track record of delivering results is essential.
- A desire to roll up the sleeves and get fully involved in delivery.
- The ability to build strong relationships, listen and understand what makes people tick.
- A strong communicator.
