An exciting opportunity exists for an Orthotist, with post-graduate experience, to join the in-house Orthotics department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This position is a full-time, 14 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. It is primarily a clinical role treating both inpatients and outpatients in a variety of clinics.

Main duties of the job

The department is set in an acute trust with a major trauma unit and spinal centre, this means there is a diverse and often complex patient group. There is a range of outpatients’ clinics, with appropriate assessment time and dedicated ward time for inpatient work. There is a fully equipped in-house workshop with 6 technicians to support clinical staff.

Multi-disciplinary teamwork is thoroughly encouraged and the department has numerous multi-disciplinary and joint Orthotist clinics. These include Diabetic Foot, Neurology, Paediatric, complex footwear and Spinal.

All Orthotists have weekly in-service training sessions, protected CPD time and are encouraged to participate in service development, both within the department, in the therapies and rehab pathway

The Orthotics department aims to provide the most efficient and effective care to patients, to set new standards in orthotic treatment and to constantly improve to meet the demands of our users. The department has a strong focus on staff well-being, with regular supervision, access to educational courses and time out for well-being sessions.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
