Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust is large acute provider in North East London. Radiology provides services from Queen's & King George Hospitasl, in additon we provides services from Barking Community Hospital(CDC), where a purpose build centre will be developed in 2023/24. X-ray services all also provided from 3 satelite sites.
The Proffessional Lead will work in partnership with the Clincal Lead and Specilalty Manger to form a Radiology Triumvirate.

Signifincant investment has been made in Radiology in terms of staffing, investment in new diagnostic equipment including a new 3T MRI at King George Hospital.
This role will lead on the proffessional development of the Radiology workforce, including supporting and working alongside the Education Lead on devloping the Radiography Accademy.

The succesfful applicant is expected to be a role model and leader to all staff across the organisation, but particularly the radiographic staf with a coaching style of leadership and a high level of skill in giving and receiving constructive feedback.

The role will be key to the ongoing partnership working across Northeast London, working in close parternship with Bart's Health Group.

The Radiography Professional Lead will provide expert professional, clinical and strategic leadership and responsibility to the Radiography workforce and services across the Barking Havering and Redbridge Hospital Trust. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that radiographers, sonographers, and support staff have a single point of visibility and accountable, professional leadership across the Trust. With a focus upon patient safety, the delivery of high-quality care and excellent staff experience. Acting as a role model for PRIDE values and creating a culture of collaborative, partnership working.

The successful post holder will develop strong internal and external professional working relationships. With the aim of effectively leading the transformation and optimisation of the Radiography workforce. Providing professional expert radiographic advice and guidance to the Trust the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of services which conform to professional standards and meet clinical governance compliance.

Under the leadership of our Chair, Jacqui Smith and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive we provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, operating from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

As we recover from Covid-19, we’re proud to be leading the way in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive for our teams to innovate and change.
