Job Overview

Our organization operates from two primary medical facilities and several community outreach locations. The Radiology Departments deliver a comprehensive array of imaging services, including Digital Radiography, CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Angiography, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Ultrasound.

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Band 5 Radiographer to become a part of our General X-Ray imaging team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual eager to develop their expertise in a dynamic District General Hospital environment.

Effective communication and teamwork are essential qualities for this position. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently across all general areas within the department and will take the initiative in coordinating theatre and mobile examinations.

As a member of the Imaging Department team, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality service in line with departmental and Trust protocols. You will be expected to uphold and advance high standards of patient care among peers, students, colleagues, and users of imaging services.

You will assist the Imaging Department Senior team in meeting departmental and Trust objectives and will provide supervision and guidance to undergraduate students and assistant practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will aid in the provision of radiology imaging services and participate in the 24-hour emergency out-of-hours service, under the guidance of senior staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, College of Radiographers Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
  • Experience within an NHS organization.

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience in Digital Radiography / PACS environment; Radiology Information Systems; Strong Radiographic technique.

Desirable Experience

  • Post-qualification experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
