London, United Kingdom Alzheimer's Society Full time

**About The Role**:
**About the role**

Would you like to play a key part in influencing national decision makers across Northern Ireland to drive major, positive change in the dementia policy space? Then this could be the role for you.

Sitting within Alzheimer’s Society’s National Influencing team, as our new National Influencing Officer covering Northern Ireland you would be part of a growing team, instrumental in delivering innovative, engaging, collaborative, and evidence-based influencing work. You’d be ensuring that political stakeholders are acting on the biggest issues affecting people living with dementia, working closely with other teams to ensure our work is integrated locally and nationally.

While this role is predominantly focused on delivering national influencing activity in Northern Ireland through engagement with MLAs and other significant national stakeholders, you’ll also be part of a fluid and flexible team that operates across boundaries and supports with our political work in Wales and England, too.

This is an exciting time for dementia policy in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. We have the chance to ensure that Governments are prioritising dementia and the needs of all those affected by the condition. Our National Influencing Officers will be at the forefront of taking on this vitally important challenge.

**About you**

We’re looking for a motivated, ambitious, curious and naturally collaborative person who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo. You’ll need to have a keen interest in politics and campaigning, and experience in developing and implementing political strategies.

The key to success in this role is the ability to engage others politically, sharing your analysis, opinions, evidence and insight to inspire national politicians and decisionmakers to take action and improve the lives of people affected by dementia. In doing this, you’ll build sustainable and impactful relationships with stakeholders.

You’ll be able to identify the action that’s needed to prioritise dementia nationally in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, working with colleagues to plan, budget, and gather evidence to underpin all the work we do. This role will include working closely with teams across Alzheimer’s Society and ensuring that the insight of people living with and affected by dementia is at the heart of all our political and Parliamentary engagement.

**Person specification**
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Work collaboratively and be able to prioritise your workload effectively and remain solutions focussed.
- Strong interpersonal and interpretation skills.
- Excellent organisational and timekeeping skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Be a team player, supporting colleagues when there are deadlines and know when to ask for help.
- Be a self-starter and incredibly motivated.

**Application Process**

Recruitment agencies - please note we are not accepting any speculative CVs and communications from external recruiters. For more information, please contact the Recruitment Team.

We want everyone we work with, as a colleague, volunteer, supporter, or someone we support, to feel included and that they belong at Alzheimer's Society.

We are committed to building a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensuring inclusion in everything we do. During your recruitment process we want to make sure that you bring your whole self and be at your best.
