Our Housing & Strategic Projects Team Leader will be responsible for developing and implementing a plan to drive tenant satisfaction and achieve top quartile performance in our Housing Management and Rents service.

They will play a lead role in supporting our tenants to achieve positive outcomes and ensuring our Housing estates are vibrant places to live. Securing buy in from internal and external partners and maximising available resources.

**About the role**

**Salary**: Grade11 - £46,549 - £49,590
37 Hours per week/ 5 days per week
Main Place of Work: Alps, Wenvoe CF56AA

To give strategic direction to the Council’s Housing landlord function (4,000 homes) in terms of tenancy management, income management, community investment and involvement, neighbourhood management and older persons accommodation.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

To lead a team of Housing and Community Investment Specialists to deliver an excellent landlord service to approximately 4,300 families (including leaseholders).
- To develop a strategic approach to older persons accommodation in the Vale.
- To develop a strategic approach to environmental and neighborhood enhancement.
- To lead on the Council’s approach to financial inclusion working with a range of partners.
- To lead on the Council’s approach to digital inclusion working with a range of partners.
- To develop a community investment and involvement strategy that focuses on skills, training and education in addition to meaningful customer engagement.
- To develop a performance management framework for all housing management and community investment activities focusing on an outcome based approach.
- To manage the budget attributed to the landlord function i.e. housing revenue account.
- To adopt preventative strategies in terms of anti-social behavior and neighbourhood enhancement with the team.
- Ensure confidentiality of all information relating to tenants.
- Ensure compliance with the Council’s Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies and Procedures
- To implement the principles of the Council’s Equal Opportunity Policy whilst carrying out the above duties
- To adhere to Health and Safety legislation / relevant Council policies and procedures and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts / omissions.
- To implement the principles of the Council's Environment Policy while carrying out the above duties.
- Such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade and in accordance with the general character of the job as may reasonably be required by the Chief Officer from time to time.

**About you**
The successful applicant will have:

- Knowledge of current local and national housing policy and strategy.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant housing law.
- Knowledge of housing management and community engagement sector best practice.
- Knowledge of the impact of welfare benefit changes.Excellent leadership skills.
