**Salary: £25,152 - increasing to £27,794 per annum from 1 April 2024Plus, Pension Plan**

**About us**
V21 are a local charity with facilities across South Wales. We support life-changing opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, our trainees, to realise their potential through: catering; growing; creating; learning and making initiatives. Many of these projects are social enterprises that provide training for people with learning difficulties and volunteering opportunities for others.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Co-ordinate all activities relating to trainee learning through activities, social interaction, teamwork, and engagement. Establish and maintain a secure and supportive environment ensuring understanding, consistency, and empowerment so that trainees can reach their full potential. Regularly promote learning and monitor the progression of the trainees, adapting teaching methods, materials, equipment, and delivery depending on the individual’s needs and ability.
- Empower your team (trainees and volunteers alike) by making each individual feel valued and recognised for their contributions. Work with colleagues to shape the future of V21 to enable the charity to adapt to external changes, respond to opportunities, maximise income generation and remain a leader of providing training for people with learning needs.
**Person specification for the post of**:
**Qualifications/Education**:
- Joinery/Carpentry Qualification or 5 Years Experience in a Joinery/workshop environment.
- A minimum of 5 G.C.S.E’s including English and Maths.
**Experience**:
- Budget handling experience.
- Wood machining experience.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace including COSHH and PUWER.
- Knowledge of different types of timber and uses.
**Key** **skills/** **abilities**:
- The ability to work in a sensitive and enabling manner.
- The ability to train others and develop as a member of a committed, effective multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality appropriately.
- Creative practical skills.
- The ability to work to meet deadlines.
- The ability to communicate with trainees, parents and carers about trainees’ progress.
- A full driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
