About you and this role

The ES&S Leader identifies, develops, and leads the resources necessary for efficient and effective implementation of the ES&S management systems and work processes. Works closely with Regional ES&S, Site Leadership, and other key stakeholders to perform role. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity, strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures work and emergency response activities are executed safely in alignment with Dow Life Critical Standards.
- Leads and directs ES&S activities and ES&S personnel to assure that the ES&S Work Processes Emergency Planning, Preparedness & Response, Security and Distribution Emergency Response (DER) for the Barry site are implemented, up to date (including training), and in compliance.
- Ensures that Security awareness and compliance trainings/initiatives are available and conducted in Barry.
- Follow up on ES&S related findings from EH&S Integrated Audits, Security Risk Assessments with support from site leadership. Track required improvements and take ownership and address difficulties or delays to Site Leadership and ES&S Regional Leadership.
- Provides leadership and coaching to ES&S personnel to facilitate personnel development and continuous improvement in performance and teamwork.
- Provides emergency management and crisis management coaching. This includes engagement and facilitation of the Site Emergency Managers Network and the development and implementation of drills and exercises to test and maintain site and department preparedness.
- Responsible for cost-effective delivery of ES&S services through use of standard work processes and implementation of common systems.
- Implements annual and long term capital projects and develop annual budgets. Operate the department within these guidelines and conduct regular analysis to ensure costs are in compliance with budgetary and functional guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with all, local and company requirements related to ES&S operations.
- Process Owner of UK Crisis Management System (incl. introductory and ongoing trainings, planning of tabletops and drills), maintenance of the UK CM Team data and documentation. ES&S representative in UK Crisis Management Team.
- Ensures integration of site emergency and crisis plans with country, regional, business, functional and external crisis plans.
- Consults with and support the ES&S Expertise Center to ensure alignment with the ES&S functional strategy.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or Military/Emergency services equivalent qualifications related to emergency services and security, crisis management, emergency response, Environmental Health and Safety, manufacturing or other related experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated project implementation skills.
