Are you an experienced project manager wanting to make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity in our friendly and dynamic team working to reduce our building related carbon emissions to help us reach net zero.

East Sussex County Council declared a climate emergency in October 2019 and is committed to becoming carbon neutral from their own activities by 2050 at the latest.

This is your opportunity to join the team to be part of delivering the changes needed.

You would be joining an established Property team and be responsible for delivering carbon reduction projects, increasing energy efficiency across the East Sussex County Council estate.

Property is in the process of embedding carbon reduction into all its activities and this role will play a central part in the realisation of this aspiration.

Working with motivated and supportive colleagues in the Energy Efficiency team, Property, and other departments across the council you will play a key role in the development and delivery of a wide range of Carbon reduction projects. The type of project will include low carbon heating and lighting replacement, Photovoltaic installation, and heat load management through improved fabric insulation.
- Has a successful track record of project management within the built environment, ideally with a carbon saving focus
- Is passionate about carbon reduction and helping East Sussex County Council to achieve net zero
- Is interested in new and emerging green technology
- Enjoys engaging with contractors, consultants and clients to achieve the best project outcomes, on time and on budget

Possesses strong organisation skills and is highly self-motivated

This is a new post within an experienced project delivery team and will be supported by key professionals in these field and other colleagues within the department. Please note this is fixed term for 24 months.

Training will be available to enhance and develop the required skillset to fully understand and deliver the scope of the role.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
