Bristol, United Kingdom North Bristol NHS Trust Full time

To manage and administer the patient waiting lists for a team of clinicians in accordance with the Government Access Targets, and the ‘Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Elective Care Access Policy’. Will actively co-ordinate the reduction of waiting times.

Complete management and co-ordination of the patient waiting lists/times for all Consultants including booking pre-operative assessments.

You will be required to play a central role within the services, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, working with sound judgement, initiative and decision-making both independently and in liaison with the Gynaecology Support Manager. You will also be required to liaise with hospital medical and administrative staff, other departments, General Practitioners and patients.

You will be responsible for the line management of the B3 and B2 staff within the Waiting List team

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Waiting List Coordinator role in the Gynaecology Department at North Bristol NHS Trust.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly organised and driven individual to join our team as a Waiting List Coordinator in our busy department at North Bristol NHS Trust. This role involves working as part of a team in a pressurised position - the post holder will be expected to prioritise their own workload to ensure that the management of specific waiting lists is being accomplished in line with clinical urgency, the Trust’s waiting time standards and the Trust’s Patient Access Policy.

We are a hard working friendly and flexible team, meeting ever changing demands and require someone of a similar nature.

Patients are the most important people in the health service and are at the centre of what we do. Patients and carers are the ‘experts’ in how they feel and what it is like to live with or care for someone with a particular illness or condition. The patients’ experience of our services should guide the way we deliver services and influence how we engage with patients every day in our work.

All staff should communicate effectively in their day to day practice with patients and should support and enable patients/carers to make choices, changes and influence the way their treatment or care is provided. All staff, managers and Board members should work to promote effective patient, carer and public involvement in all elements of their work

We have a duty to involve, engage and consult with patients, carers and families about plans for health facilities and the provision of our services. North Bristol NHS Trust wholeheartedly embraces the principles of patient partnership and has made clear its commitment to involve patients in key aspects of its work, which will be further strengthened through becoming a Foundation Trust.
