We are offering a **one-year fixed term contract** for a SEND Assessment Coordinator (PfA) to join our Preparing For Adulthood Team within the SEND Service in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

This role is one that may be of interest to psychology or other social science graduates. It should also appeal to those who work with children and young people with SEN in educational settings, and with their families.

You will need to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the SEND landscape and legislation along with highly refined interpersonal and organisational skills.

About the role

As a SEND Assessment Coordinator (PfA) for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:

- Undertaking relevant casework for young people, including supporting work for Tribunal Cases.
- Attending annual reviews of EHC plans and update plans as required.
- Undertaking needs assessments of young people in relation to statutory requests for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC).
- Writing EHC plans that are legally compliant with the statutory requirements of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.

**Please note this is a hybrid working role, including a mixture of home and office working.** The interviews will take place in person at Maidenhead Town Hall.

About you

To be SEND Assessment Coordinator (PfA) for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:

- Be educated to a degree level, with appropriate professional qualification/s or experience.
- Have knowledge and understanding of legislation, statutory frameworks and policy affecting services for children, young people and families in relation to SEND.
- Have experience of building and maintaining successful relationships with a range of stakeholders, including schools and colleges.
- Have a high level of determination, personal drive, energy and ambition to achieve challenging targets and improve outcomes.
- Have excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
