What it's like to work here:As this is a Key Representative position, you’ll work in a team of three on a rotation to cover out of hours responsibilities and covering each other’s holiday and days off. This site needs a person with good knowledge of a key representative role and the flexibility to think on their feet. Looking after Fire alarm system, intruder alarm system, water treatment plant, sewage system and more.

Information on these responsibilities can be found in the attached document. The accommodation is a two-bedroom house with small garden, which you'll be able to view at interview stage.

You’ll be based at Uppark House which will enable you to build a strong knowledge in collections care and the day to day running of a house open to the public, we also like to build strong working relationships with our volunteers and the other teams within the portfolio. We are all passionate about our work and hope you'll share this passion with your future colleagues, the volunteers and our visitors.

We are a close team working with other departments and across the portfolio, learning from each other and making these two houses a great place to work in.

What you'll be doing:You’ll be responsible for the daily opening of the house, ensuring appropriate resources are in place to be able to provide a consistently excellent service for our visitors. Working with a team of Collection Assistants, you'll supervise the team responsible for implementing conservation routines, preventive conservation and annual deep cleaning programme within the house to ensure excellent standards of care, delivering strategies to improve conservation.

You'll collect and record information during housekeeping cleaning routines to inform our understanding of the house and the collection, and use preventive conservation techniques to improve how we conserve, interpret and present the property. You’ll enjoy telling visitors about our fascinating history, sharing tales from the past as well as your personal experience of working here.
