An exciting opportunity has come up in our friendly and busy Heritage & Arboricultural Team. We are looking for a capable, enthusiastic and experienced Arboricultural Officer.

As an Arboricultural specialist you will have experience in providing a high quality arboricultural service relating to the statutory protection of trees and woodland. This should include the ability to robustly defend objections and refusals at. We are looking a person with a positive attitude, a desire to solve problems and a passion for good customer service.

Delivering a high-quality planning service starts with securing high-quality people. If you are an experienced, enthusiastic and ambitious arboriculturist, passionate about the conservation of the district’s natural green spaces, have experience of complex arboricultural cases and the ability to provide sound advice and judgements for a range of audiences, including elected Members of the council, you could be what we’re looking for

The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, with a mix of both home and office-based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant. The Council is currently in the process of moving to new bespoke offices closer to Petersfield town centre and the railway station.
