Young People's Mental Health Care Coordinator

Exmouth, United Kingdom HeadsUP Mental Health Awareness Full time

**Part-time Role - 2 days per week, 14.8 hours**

**Fixed-Term Contract from 1st Sept 2024 - 31st March 2025**

**Salary - £24,500 per annum pro rata**

**Covering Primary Schools within the WEB (Woodbury, Exmouth, Budleigh) area**

Young People’s Mental Health is a significant issue in our local community. The availability of services for this group is such that many children and their families are struggling to cope. This has a massive detrimental effect on the child’s future prospects, the wellbeing of the family unit as well as the community.

This service is designed to address the topic and impact of mental health before it becomes an issue. By increasing awareness of mental health issues in young people and giving them the skills to discuss any problems they are having, this programme intends to help young people avoid arriving at crisis point, to be more resilient and to seek assistance early.

We are now in a position to recruit 2 further Mental Health Care Coordinators covering the WEB area in East Devon. In this role you will deliver evidence-based 1-1/small group interventions for students to improve their emotional health and wellbeing. You will also plan and deliver group and class sessions on agreed topics related to wellbeing and positive mental health (e.g. building resilience, building self-esteem and confidence, dealing with worry, anger and low mood).

You will be sufficiently confident to manage your own workload efficiently and effectively on a daily basis, be solutions-focused and have a “can-do” proactive approach.

For an informal discussion please contact Paula Baker on 07976 169053.

**5pm on Thursday 4th July with interviews TBC**
