Head of HR Operations

Job Introduction
DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint a new Head of HR Operations to join our wider HR Team.
You should be able to demonstrate that you have successfully led and delivered operations services (not necessarily HR) and have some understanding of reward and payroll. The role will report to the HR Director and will be a member of the HR Senior leadership team.
The role is preferably to be located in Bristol but other UK Locations will be considered.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead on the strategic direction of the HR Operations teams including involvement in a programme of transformation of processes through people, technology and processes
- End to end delivery of all employee lifecycle processes, with accountability for delivering all services that come within scope of the HR Operations team, ensuring strong measures and controls are in place
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including managing data, employment and contractual matters, auditing and reporting, right to work and visa requirements
- Work closely and effectively with other members of the Senior HR Management team to ensure “joined up” approach to the HR strategy
- Maintaining a customer service culture, ensure quality and effectiveness of service delivery, whilst driving a continuous improvement mindset through the team
- Manage, motivate and develop the HR Services, HR Systems and Data and Reward and Payroll teams via the respective team leaders, ensuring collaborative and effective resource allocation within and across teams, building knowledge and reducing single points of expertise
- In collaboration with colleagues in IT Applications and Procurement, oversee vendor relationships with third parties, system providers and contractors
- Manage the People Operations budgets (including all HR systems and employee benefit schemes)
- Monitor and develop the HR team Business Continuity plans
- Support the international business as required, evolving services in line with international expansion plans
- Role model the firm’s values - supportive, determined, creative and clear
**Essential**:
- Experience of leading an operation, not necessarily an HR operation, with understanding of effective measures and controls
- Previous experience of process improvement to achieve efficiencies and improve the customer experience
- Extensive experience of the development and utilisation of HR systems to maximise efficiency, reduce cost and enhance user experience
- Client focused approach; highly motivated to provide excellent advice and deliver results
- Experience of operating at a Senior Management level including managing, coaching and developing people
- Excellent commercial awareness in order to drive quality, efficiency and cost savings
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels within the HR team and across the firm
- The ability to implement a positive, transparent and collaborative team culture
- Excellent analytical skills, rooted in commerciality to deliver practical solutions and recommend solutions
- Capable of handling complex and difficult situations with thought and confidence
- Able to evaluate commercial or financial risk, people implications and take action to mitigate where appropriate
- Excellent collaborator, influencer and communicator, able to drive solutions to fix business challenges
- Able to listen to and manage internal customer requirements
- Excellent presentation, written and communication skills
- Organised and able to prioritise diverse workload and meet deadlines
- Proven experience in managing external supplier relationships
- Deep knowledge of the regulatory and legislative requirements for UK employees
- Demonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).
**Desirable**:
- Experience of managing reward and benefit processes such as annual pay review, payroll, annual renewal of benefits, job evaluation and salary benchmarking
- Experience of providing HR services on an international basis
- Previous experience of process review and project management would be an advantage
