London, United Kingdom West London NHS Trust Full time

Since launching in 2009, Back on Track has become a well-established successful IAPT service in London and is currently undergoing an expansion. We are recruiting for the established post of Community Engagement Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (band 6 inner London 20% weighting). We are excited to welcome an experienced PWP to the team, who has a passion and proven commitment to working alongside the local community. Our main office is based centrally, in Hammersmith and has good transport links (Hammersmith tube/bus stations), amenities, and a vibrant high street all within 5 minutes’ walk.

We have received positive feedback from staff for our approach in supporting staff who are working parents or carers. Our service has won awards for its focus on wellbeing and we have a sociable and friendly team. As a result, we develop long-lasting and committed relationships with our staff.

The primary role of the community engagement PWP will be to identify, maintain and strengthen links with relevant local community organisations, multicultural community and faith groups, GPs and stakeholders. They will be required to develop existing relationships in the community as well as identifying barriers to accessing services within the local communities and formulating strategies as to how these might be overcome.

The post holder will be involved in designing and running bespoke psychoeducational workshops on various themes and providing training for community and faith groups about mental health and raise awareness of what is available via IAPT services. Ideally, the training and the workshops will be co-produced with community members as much as possible. The post holder will need to be flexible and easily adaptable to deliver workshops both to the public, and social and health care professionals. They will need to be able to use technology in a flexible way in order to deliver workshops and outreach using a range of medium including face-to-face and remotely.

In additional to the community engagement role, the post holder will maintain a small clinical caseload and with additional training, may be asked to take on some supervision responsibilities.
