An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Tracking teamat Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as an MDT Co-ordinator for the cancer service. This post is fixed term for 12 months in the first instance, but with potential to become permanent.

The post holder will be a key member of the cancer tracking team, who will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support the cancer MDTs and will coordinate the care of cancer patients across all relevant teams, ensuring that all patients progress along the appropriate pathway within the appropriate timeframe. The Oncology team are a fantastic team, who support families and patients through their cancer pathways.

The MDT Co-ordinator will have experience of organising and implementing administrative procedures to support a multi-disciplinary customer focussed service, be able to provide a proactive and high quality customer focused service and have excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work with conflicting deadlines for themselves and others.

The main duties of the role are in administrating the Cancer MDT's and tracking the patients referred to the Trust on a two week suspected cancer pathway against the national standards.

You will co-ordinate the agenda for the 4 weekly MDT's. You will prepare the documents needed and attend the MDT's as a core member to accurately minute the meetings. After the meetings, the information gathered needs to be accurately recorded against each patient pathway and each pathway monitored to ensure compliance. In addition you will work closely with the Cancer Manager to track all new cancer patients against the Cancer Wait Times Standards. There are also additional Team and Departmental meetings that will need to be prepared and administrated.

**Facilitating meetings**:

- To coordinate delivery of all MDT meetings making judgement on the content and timing of each meeting.
- To prepare and present documentation of MDT meetings and ensure that policies are adhered to for MDT meetings.
- To use a full range of administrative systems, to be able to retrieve data required for MDT meetings from both computer and manual sources in an accurate and timely manner.
- To attend as a core member of MDT meetings and accurately minute the treatment plan for each patient discussed.
- To prepare and coordinate the use of video-conferencing technology where necessary in facilitating MDTs.
- To ensure that patients not discussed are taken forward to the next meeting and follow up action carried out within agreed timescales.
- To Liaise with relevant staff at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals where input may be required for an MDT meeting held at STH - this may be required on occasion for some older paediatric patients (e.g sarcoma, head and neck, haematological malignancies).
- To liaise as required with the CNS tumour MDT coordinators at STHT.

**Information**:

- To ensure that MDT outcomes are recorded onto relevant MDT databasese. Somerset.
- To liaise with members of each MDT, ensuring that clinical decisions/outcomes are communicated between relevant members of healthcare teams and otherrelevant key personnel e.g. (GP, referring clinician, STH clinicians).
- Suggest and undertake audit specific to MDTs where necessary.

Cancer Waits Tracking
- To have a detailed knowledge and understanding of National guidance, Trust operational processes, practices and protocols around the cancer pathway targets and RTT measurement.
- To extract, analyse and interpret clinical information from case notes and other relevant sources using in-depth knowledge of medical pathways to assess compliance.
