**Medical Administrator/Secretary**
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Administrative Team at Montpelier Health Centre. We have a vacancy in our team for 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for an experienced medical administrator to provide a high quality administrative/secretarial service for the clinicians at Montpelier Health.
**Your role in the Practice Team**
The role of the administrator/secretary is to effectively manage all referral correspondence and referral related enquiries for both sites. You will process referrals to secondary care services as well as type/transcribe letters and reports as required by the clinicians.
**Person Specification**
- Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of the need for accuracy with regards to patient data.
- Good understanding of medical terminology
- Proficient in the use of EMIS Web (desirable), NHS.net and Microsoft Word Applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to learning and development
- Ability to work under pressure in a constructive and helpful manner
- Demonstrate a desire to take on new challenges with a resourceful attitude and able to understand new ideas quickly
- Team player with a flexible ‘can do’ positive attitude to join our friendly team
ESSENTIAL PERSON SPECIFICATION

Health & Safety: The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others’ health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy, to include: - Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines - Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks - Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills. - Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards - Reporting potential risks identified.
