**The Fishponds Family practice are currently seeking to recruit a Medical Administrator to join our expanding team.**
**You will be working alongside our existing Care coordinator team, social prescribing link workers and health & wellbeing coaches as well as our GPs and clinical teams.**
**We are looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude.**

**About us**:
Our team consists of 5 partners and 5 salaried doctors, practice nurses, health care assistants a dietician, nurse practitioner and an advanced paramedic. All supported by a large team of care coordinators. The surgery is managed by our management team.
We embrace change and technology to support process and service improvement through efficiency to help manage the workload. We are proud to be a training practice teaching medical students from year 1 to 5 creating a real positive vibe in the surgery. We are also part of a successful PCN enjoying the benefits of collaborative working and the exchange of ideas. We are a high QOF achiever with strong administrative process.
**Main duties of the job**:
**Job description**:
To deal with all requests promptly and efficiently for information from insurance companies, legal bodies, government agencies and to liaise with GPs over providing such information.
Summarising existing patient records.
Summarising new patient records to a high standard and within agreed timescales based on Practice procedures.
Maintaining structure when recording new information.
Assisting GPs with queries relating to medical records.
To work as a member of the clinical coding team, with responsibility for own areas, inputting coded data into the patient administration system. Coding from information gathered from several sources including patient notes, discharge forms, both manual and electronic, and other clinical information captured on a variety of sources.
Provide admin support for the practice team as required.
Contact hospitals for urgent appointments and follow up, at the request of the GP.
Contact hospitals when patient information has not been received by the Practice.
Answer patient queries as able or direct the query to the appropriate person.
Ensure that referrals are dealt with correctly.
To ensure that outgoing post is dealt with daily.
To support the reception team with administrative tasks and carry out reception duties when required.
**To be considered for this exciting role, you must have**:
Reception or customer care experience is essential.
Excellent communicator both spoken and written.
Must be well presented.
Must be able to work within processes/procedures.
Should be personable, polite, and patient. Needs to have an empathy with patients, some of whom may not be so patient or polite because of anxiety.
Needs to be able to remain calm in fraught circumstances.
Needs to maintain confidentiality and data security.
Medical knowledge desirable
