Well Women Centre (WWC) is working in partnership with Wakefield Council to provide a West Yorkshire Liaison and Diversion service funded by NHS England. WWC will provide gender-specific support for women at the point of arrest with a view to diverting them away from the Criminal Justice System into support services to address identified vulnerabilities to improve their health and well-being and reduce the risk of re-offending. The post will be based in Wakefield District but offering strong links to WWC wider services.

**Well Women Centre**

Originally established in 1985, the Well Women Centre is a registered charity providing mental health services, support and wellbeing services to women in the Wakefield District. Our services bring together a range of effective ways of supporting women with multiple and complex needs. These included IAPT Counselling, EMDR therapy, practical support, advocacy services, Complementary Therapies, groups and courses. We offer wrap-around support and tailor-made packages individual to each woman that we work with. In this way, we can work towards better and more positive outcomes.

**The Role**

The successful applicant will join the L&D/WWC team and will be committed to supporting women through strong partnership working with external agencies including the police, courts and other Voluntary and Statutory services. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the wider West Yorkshire L&D all age offer and will be required to carry out assessments in both custody and community settings, providing support for women to access wider mainstream and Voluntary Sector providers across Wakefield by signposting and supporting women coming into contact with the Criminal Justice System.
