**Enhanced Resettlement Worker - Housing and Support Service**

Working as part of the Partnership that delivers Westminster’s Housing Solutions Service to single people, to prevent or relieve homelessness for clients with complex support needs, particularly those with mental health issues and/or problematic substance use. To link those clients into ongoing support to reduce the risk of future homelessness and to enhance their wellbeing.

**Main duties**:

- To work in a psychologically informed way with clients with complex support needs to deliver effective relief or prevention goals.
- To facilitate supported resettlement and advice to complex clients via personalised support plans. To support clients to access accommodation and support services that are most appropriate for them, including, but not limited to the Rough Sleeper Pathway, Single Homeless Person’s Pathway, and the private and social housing sectors.
- To provide advice and support to clients to enable them to improve their health and wellbeing focusing on mental health, physical health and substances.
- To refer clients to specialist agencies, such as substance misuse, welfare rights, advocacy, medical and legal services in their home areas as appropriate.
- Keep and maintain accurate casework records on Hope and Inform, working within relevant legislation and Partnership policies and procedures.

**Desired experience**:

- Effective experience of face-to-face work with vulnerable people or socially excluded adults.
- Ability of working with homeless clients to resettle into new areas or areas where they have a local connection.
- Experience of providing a fully sensitive and responsive service to clients in a psychologically informed manner.
- Awareness of working cooperatively with external partner agencies. e.g. Police, Social Services, NHS, as well as housing providers and voluntary agencies.

**Desired knowledge**:

- An understanding of the causes of homelessness and, in particular, the needs of people with multiple needs.
- An awareness of the issues involved in resettlement of homeless people.
- A working knowledge of how to support people with either substance or mental health needs.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and practice, e.g. Housing Legislation, Rough Sleeping Strategies, Mental Health Act, Housing Act.
