G4S in Wales are a key provider of criminal justice services
- operating in both the custodial and community sectors. We pride ourselves on the quality of our provision and we consistently seek to work alongside and in partnership with a range of other providers in the voluntary (third), public and private sectors.

We have developed services which are focused on identifying ways to maximise positive impact and make the most effective use of available resources by working with other agencies on common objectives. In this way we are increasingly able to meet wide ranging and complex needs in the most appropriate way.

We have a commitment to research, evaluation and review of evidence based initiatives.

We value and, where possible, contribute to research into reducing re-offending and therefore we recognise the importance of understanding the wider environment in which individuals operate and this informs us about how best to engage, support and help people with change.

We seek to employ people with drive and energy and a real interest in innovation and teamwork - working beyond traditional organisational boundaries.

We now have an opportunity for an Early Intervention Caseworker to join our team based across South Wales and Gwent (in and around Police Custody Suites)

The caseworker role forms part of the Future 4 consortium remit. The service is designed to deliver support and interventions to participants following arrest in South Wales and Gwent. The overall aim is to help people move away from crime, supporting them in achieving a better life. The caseworkers will operate from police custody suites and community settings. The role consists of identifying, assessing engaging and providing support arrangements for participants meeting the agreed criteria for the service and associated pilot schemes.

Key responsibilities:

- To interview and engage those referred to F4 services..
- To provide support, appropriate assessment, information and advice to participants.
- To work with Custody Officers and others to identify suitable referrals.
- To engage with participants who are released from the custody suites, ensuring these referrals are followed up and the people referred are engaged in services.
- To empower and support those who find it difficult to engage with services. Encouraging those who have not accessed services to which they have been referred and support them to attend initial appointments.
- To liaise with other agencies, community groups, public, third and private sector partners when appropriate to support those who are engaging with F4.
- Following assessment, organise with colleagues, structured programmes of care and support including training/awareness/education programmes, appointments with partner agencies and general one-to-one or group support. Enable service users to review and reflect on learning and raised awareness and to set positive future goals.
- To work with partners to ensure effective networks and joined up services.
- To work with management and colleagues developing and supporting new initiatives and developments.
- To work within the organisation’s operational policies and overall philosophy.
- To compile data and complete all documentation that pertains to the range of duties associated with this role.
- To effectively communicate the benefits and values of F4 services to other agencies and individuals.
- To work fully within all the expectations of the Future 4 consortium with specific regard for equality and diversity.
- To submit verbal or written reports when requested.
- To provide support in the absence of other team members and to work with a team based multi-agency ethos
- sharing and enabling work with Arrest Referral Women’s Pathfinder staff and others.
- Occasional evening and weekend working may be required - in Custody suites or for interventions with those who are employed or in training.

**Essential**:

- Relevant experience of working with people to enable change. (Paid or voluntary experience).
- Awareness of the barriers experienced by people caught up in a cycle of offending and related issues.
