**Directorate of Technology, Estates & Facilities - IT Services**:

This role is part of the Digital Services team within IT Services.

**Role**:
As part of the University of York’s vision the VLE project is supporting the rollout of a new cloud-hosted virtual learning environment - Blackboard Ultra. The University is using this change as an opportunity to provide a core platform that staff and students will find easier to use and navigate in support of its teaching and learning activities. Accessibility, inclusion and diversity will be key themes for the project and we will be led by user needs and feedback to find the right solutions.

This post is critical to the successful implementation of this new VLE platform, ensuring that the necessary administrative support is in place to help teaching and professional services staff with their VLE module site design and online delivery, making best use of the Ultra user interface and tool-set, and providing a high-quality experience for students.

This role will provide an opportunity for you to acquire skills and experience in planning, coordinating and managing task delivery as part of a University wide project. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, alongside the Programme Design and Learning Technology Team and academic staff within faculties, providing administrative assistance to enable adoption of Blackboard Ultra.

As project coordinator you will support coordination and communication both within, and external to, the project and become knowledgeable in the Blackboard Ultra platform. You will work proactively with departments helping to monitor and maintain progress against agreed plans, primarily supporting the coordination of training and Ultra site building activities. Main duties will include: coordinating meetings, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on progress of tasks undertaken by site builders, agenda coordination, minute-taking, coordinating communications with a large range of stakeholders and updating project documentation.

**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:

- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including demonstrable planning, prioritisation and time management skills
- Able to work as part of a team but also independently
- Flexible approach to changing or challenging circumstances
- Ability to prioritise work where there are conflicting deadlines and demands whilst ensuring an excellent service level
- Evidence of being able to uphold our behaviours.
- Project management or coordination training or qualifications would be desirable.

**Interview date**: TBC

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive - a place where we can ALL be ourselves.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
