**Research & Impact Officer**

**Salary**: £30K per annum

**Location**: Central London office three days per week, with flexibility to work from home the remaining two days.

**Contract type**: Fixed Term 12-month contract

**Holiday**: 25 days per annum (plus your birthday)

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

**Role Purpose**

The Royal Foundation requires an exceptional individual to join its Research and Impact team as a Research and Impact Officer, providing vital research and evaluation support across our programmes of work. This role is central to our effort to make The Royal Foundation evidence-led and cutting edge, helping maximise our impact across the range of issues we support.

**Key responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- Support the Research and Impact team in delivering its overarching strategy, ensuring research is embedded across our programmes of work at the Foundation.
- Provide research and evaluation support across our programmes of work and explore potential future areas of work for the Foundation.
- Support the commissioning of thirdparty suppliers to deliver research and evaluation projects and manage those contractor relationships effectively throughout the lifecycle of the projects.
- Support the R&I team by producing and reviewing key research materials (quantitative and qualitative) to enable effective project delivery.
- Analyse and synthesise data from a range of sources (e.g., Microsoft Excel, academic journals) to identify key themes and recommendations and coproduce high quality outputs including reports and press releases.

**Knowledge, experience, and personal qualities**:
**The Essentials**:

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a research environment (agency or client side).
- Strong time management and organisational skills. Able to work independently, prioritise own tasks and time across multiple projects, manage a varied workload and work under pressure.
- A good understanding of different and innovative research methodologies (e.g., quantitative, qualitative) and experience of drafting research materials to meet key objectives.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assimilate and interpret data and information from a range of different sources (e.g., primary quantitative and qualitative data and secondary data).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality research outputs and the confidence to communicate findings to a range of audiences (internal and external).
- Able to work collaboratively with others, contributing to team decisions, gathering input from others, and facilitating crossorganisational working.

**The Desirables**:

- Experience of using data analysis programmes such as SPSS is desirable but not essential.
