Macclesfield, United Kingdom Adlington Primary School Full time

Playworker

10 hours per week - Permanent position
Grade 2

Adlington Primary School is a lovely school in the village of Adlington, near to Macclesfield. We create a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels happy, safe and secure and can be encouraged to develop a love of learning in a secure and caring environment.

We are looking for a part-time Playworker to join the out of school club team from February 2023. We would like someone to join our After-School Club team to supervise the sessions (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) during term time (3.15pm to 5.45pm). Our out of school club delivers a high quality, inclusive play and care centred service that meets the needs of children, young people and their families. We work to agreed policies and procedures, the National Standards for Out of School Care and statutory guidance on Safeguarding Children.

The purpose of the role is to:
- Supervise children and prepare creative and appropriate play opportunities. Promote positive attitudes and contribute to the smooth running of the club
- Assist children with their personal hygiene tasks and at snack time
- Ensure safe arrival and departure of children
- Ensure that the children are safe in the event of a fire, fire drill or other emergency and, if qualified, administer first aid when necessary
- Clean and tidy the play area at the end of each session
- Record and report any concerns relating to child protection in line with Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures
- Check that play materials and equipment are used and stored correctly and report any worn or damaged equipment to the club supervisor

You should enjoy working with children, relate well to adults, act responsibly, respond quickly to situations and have the ability to remain calm and professional at all times. You will need to engage children in play activities, promoting positive pupil behaviour.

Adlington Primary School is a member of the Fallibroome Trust, a ten school multi-academy trust based in Cheshire. The Trust offers opportunities for peer support and professional development.
