The role is critical in ensuring that data collected in the delivery of patient care is consistently defined,classifiedand assured such thatitcan support safe, effective patient care together with being suitable for analysis for management information purposes. The Post Holderis responsible fordeveloping reference data and terminology which aligns to data standards for end-to-end collection and utilisation of data covering administrative,clinicaland managerial uses. They will liaise across the Information Standards teams, ensuring that any requirements can utilise national reference data and terminologies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Provide expert advice and complex information on reference data and terminology to a wide range of stakeholders, including DHCW Programmes and NHS Executives and senior managers. Communicate the information effectively to motivate and ensure stakeholders’ understanding and being able to provide expert knowledge and reassurance.

As a member of a national project take forward the development of reference data and terminology, providing expert advice on the development and implementation of reference data and terminology standards to project teams.

Undertake evaluation of the DHCW Programme reference data requirements to determine how the data to support these need to be defined, sometimes involving researching and recommending compromises where precise data is not available.
