Sitting across two of our three business lines; Civil and Defence, at our Luton manufacturing plant you’ll do just that. Established in 1993 with a workforce of cira 400 employees, the site offers a full range of capabilities including design, analysis, testing, certification and manufacture of electro-thermal ice protection, military fast jet canopies and flight deck windows to over 20 programmes including: Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A320, Agusta Westland AW101, Eurofighter Typhoon and Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.

Our customer base includes Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopters, Textron, BAE Systems, Pratt & Whitney, Leonardo.

**Responsibilities**:
Joining the world’s leading tier one aerospace supplier of systems and components, this opening gives you the opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’ in combining on the job training with day release at college.

Sitting across both our Civil and Defence business lines, as a Maintenance Apprentice based at our Luton facility, you’ll be working closely with the Facilities & Maintenance lead. This apprenticeship will provide you with development and training across a wide range of business knowledge, skills and behaviours to include but not limited to:

- Carrying out minor planned preventative (PPM) work including checking, testing and information gathering.
- Carrying out individual technical administration by the completion of works dockets
- Following the WED / Engineering procedures with respect to safety, security and fire policies
- Be willing; and comfortable, to work in confined spaces, work at heights, and have the ability to use engineering and building tools following appropriate training as required.
- Be willing to work at different locations across site for short durations of time as directed

You’ll get all the support, guidance, development and training to help you achieve your apprenticeship across a wide range of Electrical and Mechanical processes across both facilities; primarily including manufacturing equipment, environmental control equipment, buildings, grounds and tools. You’ll adopt a safety-first mind-set; ensuring compliance to GKN Aerospace HSE policies and standards. You’ll work in collaboration with our Lean Deployment partners contributing in the delivery of the Global Total Productive Maintenance program in reducing/preventing/eliminating asset failures.

Subject to your qualifications, you will work in conjunction with the of the following apprenticeship standards:
Level 3 - Mechanical/Engineering Craft Studies (parts 1-3)
