Job Purpose / Summary
Brammer Buck & Hickman, a leading industrial maintenance and distribution network, is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks and Deliverables:
- Ensure adherence to workflow procedures and protocols.
- Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies, including milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and lathe work.
- Record and document all necessary data to produce and expected service and/or design results, including sizes and illustrations.
- Perform dynamic balancing of mechanical assemblies using specialized equipment.
- Apply metalizing techniques as needed, including metal spraying.
- Understand and apply materials and applications as required.
- Set up and perform tool-post grinding operations, broaching procedures, and Babbitt bearing work.
- Operate various welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, torch, and stick welders.
- Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects to perform work and ensure safety.
- Utilize hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, and more.
- Adhere to and promote a culture of working safely, following all company H&S policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
- High school qualifications
- Engineering apprentice
On-the-job training and experience in industrial maintenance and machine operation are essential for success in this role. If you have a passion for working with machinery and a commitment to safety, we encourage you to apply.
