Our client is an established and customer focussed mortgage lending and savings specialist, located in South Buckinghamshire. Owing to growth in the business, they have an new Operational Risk Officer opportunity within their Risk team. The purpose of thisrole is to support the Operational Risk Manager in assurance work, supporting the team in ensuring the organisation has an effective control framework, and to be responsible for and manage the risks associated with Data Protection across the company.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience of any risk within a financial services setting, with an understanding of either mortgages or savings. It could be in operational risk, conduct risk, or even exposure to first line of defence
- our client is happy to train and develop this individual within the role, ultimately being fully trained to become a deputy MLRO.

Whilst their head office is based in South Buckinghamshire, they can offer a hybrid approach to the working week, with 3 days in the office and 2 working remotely. For training purposes, they would like more office presence initially.

Duties of the Operation Risk Officer will include:

- Ensuring that the companies Policy is updated in line with regulatory changes
- Investigate any breaches and fulfil any necessary requirements with regards to reporting
- Taking the lead on second line responsibilities for Data Security
- Ensure that staff undertake the necessary training on Data Protection and Information Security
- Support Operational Risk Manager in all Financial Crime Prevention tasks and provide cover in all aspects
- Support the Operational Risk Manager in second line assurance reviews for all cyber risks and providing assurance to the Committees
- Supporting colleagues in any operational or conduct matter
- To act as the Compliance representative on projects and internal working groups as required

To be considered for this role, our client would like experience/exposure in the following:

- Previous Financial services experience, with an understanding of Mortgages or Savings.
- Exposure/experience in a Risk based setting
