**Job summary**:

- Jersey has a traffic collision and casualty problem (particularly among vulnerable road users) which is of a magnitude greater than similar jurisdictions, and which can be addressed. Following the 2021 ‘Island Road Safety Review’ recommendations the Government of Jersey is committed to realigning it approach to road safety by embracing the international ‘Safe System Approach to Road Safety’ and establishing a Road Safety Partnership across relevant government sectors. It has also set the challenging but achievable goal of halving the number of killed and seriously injured road casualties within the next ten years.
- The Road Safety Technical Support Officer will work within a new Strategic Road Safety Unit, supporting the Head of Road Safety Partnership Delivery and Road Safety Officer with the introduction of the ‘Safe System Approach to Road Safety’ to government and the Island. With this will be the need for data led actions to reduce casualties on Jersey’s roads and to disseminate new awareness, thinking and culture through education, training, and publicity. The post holder will be responsible for:
- The day to day operation of the road traffic collision and casualty database (IMAAP), including user training and administration.
- Support with the analysis of collision data, written material and report collation.
- Support the Road Safety Officer with the management of road safety education, training and publicity.
- Support the Road Safety Officer with day to day education, training delivery.
- Support in the management of the Road Safety Partnership Board (e.g. meeting agendas, minuting, etc.).
- Contribute to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the new Strategic Road Safety Unit and its business processes.

The role requires the post holder to be self-organised, outgoing, have good written language skills, a knowledge of statistics and data analysis and able to acquire new technical and IT skills. The post holder must be conversant with Microsoft Office Suite and hold a clean local driving licence.
