As an Accounts Assistant you'll be working as part of a supportive finance team, helping with the day to day processing of the purchase ledger and sales ledger and providing general support to the Finance team. Please find all the details below:
**Job Title**: Accounts Assistant
**Location**: Ashford, Kent
**Salary**: £23k - £24k
**Your duties would include**:
Purchase ledger duties:
- Matching and checking all relevant invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure that you have received what the company have been invoiced for
- Checking the price and quantity the company have been charged for against the original purchase order to ensure that the company have been invoiced correctly
- Inputting all relevant supplier invoices received onto the accounting system
- Checking supplier statements to ensure that you have received all relevant invoices and that they have been correctly input onto the accounts system and scheduled for payment on the Cash Flow doc
Sales ledger duties:
- Input all new customers onto the accounting system, checking that you have all the documentation and they have been authorised credit; establish on Creditserve so notifications received
- Upload on a daily basis the sales from the sales system
- Produce and input ad hoc invoices and credit notes onto the accounting system
- Chase the overdue debtors in accordance with the credit control policy
- Allocating payments received with the debtors' ledger
- Liaise with the Admin team to resolve discrepancies with customer account balances
Manage the payments in the bank account:
- Input bank entries through the accounting system
- Allocate payments received with the debtors' ledger
- Reconciliation of bank account
Other team duties:
- Month end duties as assigned
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
**Experience & Qualifications**
- Some experience as an Accounts Assistant
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel
- Ideally experience of accountancy software packages
- A love of technology and the way it can improve accuracy and efficiency
