Job Overview

The Specimen Management Associate is responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens.

What you’ll be doing:
- Assists with receipt, opening, and quality check of consignments and shipments, escalating any issues to senior staff.- Ensures correct disposal and recycling of shipping supplies, preventing specimens from being left in packaging.- Handles shipping for long-term storage or clients and manages sample disposition.- May handle receipt of compounds and control material depending on functional area.- Supports after-hour alarms and critical job functions, assisting in equipment maintenance.- Manages supply inventory and workstation cleanliness, performing general cleanup tasks.- Performs administrative duties and organizes the work area as directed by management.- Follows safety procedures, participates in continuing education, and adheres to company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

What We Are Looking For:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

- Please keep in mind that this role requires flexibility in working various shift patterns, which may include weekends.
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Basic Computer skills.
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
