The Specimen Management Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate records and adhere to strict quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the receipt, opening, and quality check of consignments and shipments, escalating any issues to senior staff.
  • Ensure correct disposal and recycling of shipping supplies, preventing specimens from being left in packaging.
  • Handle shipping for long-term storage or clients and manage sample disposition.
  • Support after-hour alarms and critical job functions, assisting in equipment maintenance.
  • Manage supply inventory and workstation cleanliness, performing general cleanup tasks.
  • Perform administrative duties and organize the work area as directed by management.
  • Follow safety procedures, participate in continuing education, and adhere to company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
