The Specimen Management Associate is responsible for assisting with various routine activities associated with the receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with the receipt, opening, and quality check of consignments and shipments, escalating any issues to senior staff.
- Ensures correct disposal and recycling of shipping supplies, preventing specimens from being left in packaging.
- Handles shipping for long-term storage or clients and manages sample disposition.
- May handle receipt of compounds and control material depending on functional area.
- Supports after-hour alarms and critical job functions, assisting in equipment maintenance.
- Manages supply inventory and workstation cleanliness, performing general cleanup tasks.
- Performs administrative duties and organizes the work area as directed by management.
- Follows safety procedures, participates in continuing education, and adheres to company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
