Our UK Sustainability and Climate Services Business has an exciting opportunity in Scotland for a Sustainability/ Carbon Consultant to join our team and support on a wide range of projects in sustainability, climate and decarbonisation. At its core, your role will help to deliver low carbon, climate resilient and sustainable outcomes for the projects we deliver.

**The opportunity**:
As a consultant you will work as part of a peer group of specialists and project managers, supported by a strong and diverse team of consultants and senior leaders. The role requires strong content knowledge in the field of sustainability and climate change, together with a sound understanding of qualitative/quantitative analysis and excellent report writing and communication skills. The collaborative nature of the role requires strong interpersonal skills to work well with others.

**Your role will include**:

- Analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data
- Preparing and delivering compelling client
- and public-facing reports
- Developing comprehensive strategies and recommendations
- Preparing and delivering presentations and/or training to client teams and stakeholders
- Active participation in knowledge and skills networks within Arup and the wider professional community.
- Contributing to the corporate sustainability of Arup as a firm.

**We are looking for people who have**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree in a relevant field such as Sustainability, Climate Change, Carbon, Environmental Engineering or Geography. Other relevant qualifications will be considered.
- Experience in at least one of the following: sustainability strategy and policy, sustainability assessments (CEEQUAL/BREEAM), carbon/GHG modelling and mitigation, climate change mitigation, carbon management, carbon accounting, management systems, ESG reporting.
- Understanding of the principles of sustainability and climate change and its relationship to the planning, design and operation of the built environment
- Experience of quantitative/qualitative data analysis and producing compelling insights and findings from analysis, i.e. the “so what?” from complex data sets.
- Experience with writing and editing technical and non-technical reports
