Job Title: Associate Sustainability Consultant

Location: Glasgow

**Salary**: £50,000 - £60,000

My client is an employee-owned company specialising in engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction services. The multidisciplinary teams include scientists, economists, builders, analysts, and artists, making diversity our greatest strength. They foster a collaborative work environment that values ideas and positive change.

Companies Services include:

- Supporting the sustainable design, construction, or refurbishment of buildings (including relevant rating systems such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL)
- Environmental and GHG Permitting (including UK ETS and EU ETS)
- Development of Environmental & Energy Management Systems (ISO14001/ISO50001)
- Verification of Corporate Sustainability Reporting (including SECR)
- Net Zero Carbon strategies
- Energy and Resource efficiency assessments (including ESOS compliance)

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop sustainable solutions for clients and analyse environmental opportunities.
- Manage project delivery, ensuring high-quality deliverable and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team leaders and directors on various projects in different sectors.
- Support the development of colleagues through mentoring and training.
- Maintain knowledge of sustainability principles and relevant environmental legislation.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and effective communication skills.
- Utilise key business tools and exhibit competency in project management.

Required Qualifications:

- MSc and/or BSc in a relevant discipline (e.g., energy/environmental/engineering/scientific)
- Personable with a can-do attitude, skilled in establishing rapport and fostering good working relationships with project teams and clients
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a team
- Sound understanding of environmental and sustainability principles, capable of explaining and advocating for them effectively
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, particularly in Europe/UK, and proficiency in auditing and assessing compliance
- Excellent communication skills, adept at effective correspondence with clients, sub-contractors, and colleagues from design teams and other consultancies
- Demonstrates professionalism and integrity
- Capable of researching, collecting, analysing, and presenting information concisely and effectively, such as drafting reports or calculating carbon emissions following documented protocols
- Competency in essential business tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Browsers, and Search Engines)

Desired additional Qualifications:

- Good experience, ideally >7 years. Experience in consultancy is preferred but not mandatory.
- Possession of appropriate professional memberships based on experience (e.g., Practitioner or Full Member of IEMA, Associate or Full Member of Energy Institute, CIBSE / Others).
- Any relevant industry accreditation's are beneficial (e.g., Lead Auditor status, EIA practitioner, BREEAM / LEED / WELL Accredited Professionals / Assessors, or Energy Auditor).
- The ability and potential to learn quickly and a desire to pursue chartered status if not already achieved.
- A valid driving license.
- Experience in monitoring contract staff or third-party appointments.
- Proficient in project management with limited supervision
