About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Sustainability Consultant with robust project management expertise who is eager to advance their career with a pioneering firm in building performance and the decarbonisation of the built environment. The selected individual will be an integral part of a rapidly expanding project team, utilizing our state-of-the-art IES Digital Twinning technologies.

The ideal candidate will oversee projects and direct project teams, providing guidance to clients on resource utilization within the built environment, with an emphasis on long-term decarbonisation strategies and the immediate operation and management of buildings and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the consultancy team in a senior capacity to manage the execution of Digital Twin projects aimed at decarbonisation across various scales.
  • Coordinate with the company's global divisions to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring adequate resource allocation and high-quality outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, particularly in project management and client engagement.
  • Engage with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in project meetings, which may require travel.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in project consultancy for large-scale, multi-building initiatives.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Building Services Engineering, Building Physics, Sustainability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Urban Design Architecture.
  • Prior involvement in sustainable building design, including energy modelling, energy auditing, decarbonisation, low energy design, retrofitting, or retro-commissioning.
  • Ability to analyze, comprehend, and interpret design and construction documents, including floor plans, engineering schematics, specifications, and operational sequences.
  • Familiarity with building simulation software or related tools (e.g., CAD, energy analysis, daylight modelling, HVAC design tools).
  • Demonstrated project management experience with a proven ability to work independently and engage with external clients.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching, with a commitment to developing junior colleagues.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with IES Virtual Environment software, particularly ApacheHVAC, or other IES software modules is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, controls, and their ongoing management.
  • Understanding of heat networks and renewable energy sources.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems.
  • Previous exposure to Building Management Systems/IoT sensors and metered data.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, especially the Appendix G Performance Rating Method, and the LEED Green Building Rating System is highly desirable.
