**Role Profile Summary**

You will be working in an environment where attention to detail is pivotal. You are primarily responsible for ensuring that the Transport Department remains compliant, in line with O Licence, Legal and Government legislation to include drivers hours legislation and compliance to the Road Transport Directive through monitoring, analysis and counselling of tachograph infringements. You will be the first line report for all drivers, dealing with absence, grievance, disciplinary and recruitment, reporting directly into our Head of Transport.

**Key Responsibilities and duties**

**Responsibilities**
- Manage the fleet and driver performance, ensuring compliance with all the rules and regulations associated to haulage and HGV’S.
- Control of the maintenance and garage personnel to managing and scheduling fleet inspections and MOT’s
- ensuring all records are maintained under the obligations of the O licence and up to FORS standard.
- Ensure all driver teams are effectively trained to a high standard.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the company OCR (Operator Compliance Risk) score is green.
- Monitor driver behaviour through telematics
- To maintain the current high safety standards in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensuring that legislation regarding driver hours and tachographs are always adhered to.
- Have a good degree of computer literacy, as well as the ability to analyse data, along with the initiative to act accordingly.

**Duties**
- Managing the fleet and driver legal compliance.
- Maintain compliance with the operator licensing requirements through effective auditing.
- Ensure all relevant vehicle and driver documentation is obtained and filed appropriately and correctly.
- Take ownership of defects and corrective measures
- Manage maintenance and compliance contractor relationships.
- Deliver relevant training to drivers when required.
- Carry out investigations or incident reports in relation to any vehicle incidents.
- Running appropriate checks that each mile has been accounted for in tachograph records and driver tachographs are time right.
- Carry out driver assessments as part of the recruitment process
- New driver training, inductions, delivery process training, SOPS, Tacho rules, defect reporting and walk round checks
- Annual driver assessments and refresher training.
- Driver CPC planning

**What we’re looking for**

To be considered for the role you would need to hold a CPC Qualification and have an excellent knowledge of operator licensing requirements and legislation. You must have proven and demonstratable management experience doing a similar role within a fast paced transport operation. We will expect you to be

- Established experience in effective problem solving and decision making.
- Experience of producing clear, accurate and concise reports.
- Ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop people.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
