Willmotts Transport is one of the largest independent warehousing and distribution companies in the South West, based just outside of Shepton Mallet, near Bristol. Due to continued success and growth, we are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join our friendly team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with safety risk assessments, method statements, and associated documentation.
- Investigating and reporting on accidents, incidents and near misses and recommended improvements implemented
- Presenting Company inductions and tool-box talks
- Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the organisation
- Identify, provide and/or procure an effective health and safety related training regime
- Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensure the systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance and other requirements
- Compliance across all sites and equipment, ensuring a safe workplace environment without risk to health
- Ensure all actions are controlled, documented and maintained in accordance with regulations and guidelines
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulation are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
- Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
- Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
- Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the company.
- Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business

**Benefits**:

- The Company hold a Group Death in Service policy based on your basic annual salary at no extra cost to you as an employee
- After 2 year’s unbroken service employees will receive an additional day’s holiday which will increase by an extra day (pro rata where necessary) after each additional full years’ service up to a maximum of 3 days.
**Additional Details**:

- Hours of work 08:00 - 17:00 3 days a week (flexible 25.5 hours)
- Starting salary £32,000 pro rata
- Workplace Pension
- Immediate start required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25.5 per week

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
