General Practice Administration Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of General Practice Administration Officer within our team at Somerset Local Medical Committee. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of clinics, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative skills, be highly organized, and demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork. You will work closely with our GPs to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, allowing them to concentrate on delivering high-quality patient care.

Mendip PCN is comprised of five GP practices serving a diverse population across town and rural locations. Our organization is committed to providing the best possible patient care, and we believe that this role will make a significant contribution to achieving this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract relevant information from clinical letters for coding and adding to clinical notes.
  • Complete basic administrative tasks for the GP, including signing documents such as insurance forms, mortgage applications, and benefits agency forms.
  • Assist the GP in liaising with outside agencies, contacting hospitals, and arranging admissions when necessary.
  • Support the GP with immunizations and wound care.
Requirements
  • Adhere to Mendip PCN's policies and procedures, as well as any relevant legislation.
  • Participate in regular supervision sessions and appraisals with your line manager.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and fire precautions.
  • Ensure mandatory training is up-to-date at all times.
Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience, reflecting the importance of this position in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
