We are seeking a highly motivated General Practice Support Specialist to join our team at Somerset Local Medical Committee in Central Mendip.


The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a General Practice Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting GPs and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Extracting relevant information from clinical letters and adding it to patient notes.
  • Providing administrative support to GPs, including completing basic paperwork and preparing documents for signing.
  • Supporting GPs with external agencies, such as hospitals or other healthcare providers.
  • Assisting with vaccinations and wound care.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed accurately and efficiently, freeing up time for GPs to focus on patient care.


This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through regular supervision and training sessions, as well as contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.
