**The Role**:
University Hospital Monklands is looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer to both help lead pharmacy staff in our stores and participate in a medicines management role on wards.
Pharmacy stores is a crucial operational area which provides a patient focused quality service to assure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical products.

To provide patient focused quality service to assure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical products.

To be the team leader for pharmacy staff working within goods receipt area.

The accurate and safe assembly of medicines to be dispensed.

To receive, check, package and despatch pharmaceutical goods.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Scottish Vocational Qualification Level II
- Two years experience as an assistant technical officer.
- Experience in hospital practice
- Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload and work under pressure.
- Able to work under their own initiative and as part of a team.
- Commitment to CPD / Self motivation
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate customer awareness/focus.
- Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department.

**It would be great if you also have**
- SVQ in Pharmacy Services (Level II)
- Commitment to CPD
- Previous experience as an assistant technical officer (ATO) within hospital pharmacy environment.
- Leading a team and / or supervising others.
- Providing feedback to others.
- Basic IT skills
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work weekends and Public Holidays

**Applicants who do not hold a Scottish Vocational Qualification Level II in Pharmacy Services will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme where whilst undergoing training they will be paid 75% of the top of Band 3 (£20,614) and on completion of training will then move on to Band 3 scale

- This role will be based in Pharmacy Department within University Hospital Monklands.
