**Part-Time Administrator**

**Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time 1pm to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 16 hours per week**

**Salary: £10,971.45 (full-time equivalent of which is £24,000)**

**Location: Thames View Crematorium and Cemetery, Gravesend, Kent**

**The Role**

We are currently seeking an Administrator to be a key member of a small and friendly team. As the Administrator you would be responsible for providing a compassionate and efficient front-line service for the Crematorium and accurately and professionally carry out the administration of the Crematorium Service.

**Key Accountabilities and Outputs**:

- Assist all clients which includes the general public, Funeral Directors, Medical Referees, Celebrants and Ministers efficiently and professionally with any queries on the phone, in writing and face to face.
- Produce all necessary documentation (internal and external) to ensure all cremations can take place within the time frame set.
- Provide a friendly, compassionate and efficient frontline service for the Crematorium. Carry out reception duties and be the first point of contact for visitors to the reception area.
- Ensure the Crematorium’s registers are kept up to date and that any other statutory documentation housed on site is maintained.
- Manage the daily cremations diary, accurately recording details of instructions.
- Liaise with other departments within the Crematorium to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided.
- Take payments and produce receipts.
- Ensure that Data Protection legislation and GDPR is adhered to at all times.

The role will include covering Chapel duties when needed. This will involve fully preparing the chapel for each service, including, using the music system, cleaning, liaising in a professional, efficient and helpful manner with mourners, clergy and Funeral Directors.

**Your ideal Experience, Skills and Competences;**
- Excellent customer service skills, and a high level of professionalism and empathy. Ability to deal with bereaved and potentially distressed persons in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
- Excellent administration skills and experience.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to quickly build a rapport with a wide range of people.
- Good IT skills, with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail. Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrates flexibility, embracing change, showing initiative and remaining proactive at all times.
- Works well with a team, helping and supporting each other.
- Ability and experience of working in a pressured and busy environment in a calm and efficient manner. Also, able to utilise time and effort effectively and use initiative in quieter times.
- Takes ownership of their own Training and Development and partakes in any training deemed necessary by the line manager or management.
