**Key Accountabilities**:

- Lead the team to implement effective category strategies in terms of managing the supply base, buying, ranging, margin mix promotional framework, merchandise planning and stock management, ensuring a true multi-channel approach is taken.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of all business levers to ensure fast and effective decision-making is in place to optimise trading performance.
- Monitor and manage the ongoing trading performance of the category, ensuring we plan and forecast rigorously, to allow us to deliver our revenue, margin, profit and market share ambitions.
- Drive procurement benefits through developing supplier partnerships and buying alliances.
- Lead the charge on delivering ESG targets—packaging, product, science based targets and emissions for all partners to name the key ones.
- Deliver innovation across the categories by working with the Head of Design.
- Monitor and manage the customer experience measures, ensuring tactical interventions are implemented where appropriate.
- Work with the channel and operational teams to ensure we are maximising the trading opportunities available.
- Product expert—working with proposition team, procurement function and suppliers to ensure we have the best range sourced with the most beneficial financials.
- Lead the delivery of all major range reviews.
- Accountable for the P&L of all concept groups within the category.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- A product and sourcing expert who has a proven track record of driving innovation, building supplier partnerships and buying alliances.
- Customer at the core—a champion and intuitive (a natural ability to connect with and for customers).
- High commercial acumen, analytical and financially robust. A keen eye for cash flow and working capital management.
- Execution expert with strong planning rigour.
- Pragmatic and grounded, ability to drive delivery.
- Stakeholder management with high collaboration /cross-functional expertise.
- Cross-channel/multi-channel thinking.
- Able to understand/ interpret/ challenge/ and build actionable insight from complex data sets.
