Are you a Payroll Professional with working knowledge of integrated HR systems and hands on experience of HR/Payroll improvement and/or transition projects then Redde Northgate Plc has an exciting opportunity for you as a Payroll Projects & Controls Manager?

This role will join a newly created team within our Group Payroll. The focus is to drive process improvement, standardisation and quality assurance across the payroll service following migration from former remote payroll sites to a new central functionbased in Darlington.

Working closely with the Operational Payroll Team, colleagues, and stakeholders across the Redde Northgate Group to deliver right first-time output. Maximising opportunities for automation and customer centric services with appropriate processes, controls,and governance to drive improved performance.

**Your key responsibilities will include**
- Management and recovery of all pay related debts
- Lead on Group projects from a payroll perspective including future acquisitions
- Identify and implement processes that are light touch and customer centric maximising the use of self-service and automation wherever possible
- Implement controls to deliver right first-time output and ensure they are consistently applied
- Monitor and report internal HR and customer performance across all pay related processes
- Manage quality controls to ensure accuracy of data within the HR & Payroll system
- Provide pay related metrics to support the completion of monthly management information
- Provide HR & payroll reports from the Group’s HR & Payroll system and other data sources on a schedule and ad-hoc basis always ensuring data integrity and security
- Preparation of monthly Board Packs
- Ensure all Pay related processes are documented and updated on a regular basis, including user guides and process workflow diagrams
- Manage recovery and reporting of payroll debts across the Group and develop mechanisms to reduce pay related overpayments
- Assist the Operational Payroll Service with testing of system upgrades
- Develop and maintain all pay related content on the Group’s intranet including payroll schedules, team structure, services, FAQs, and data to raise the profile and visibility of the payroll service
- Support the Operational Payroll Service during peak periods and deputise for the Group Payroll Manager and Head of Payroll as required
- Maintaining excellent relationships with all internal and external Stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate risk including the reporting of near misses
- Day to day supervision and guidance of the Payroll Controls Officer

**About You**
- Experience of working in Payroll in a Senior hands-on capacity
- Up to date with current legislative knowledge: PAYE, RTI, Auto Enrolment, SMP, SSP, P11D
- Experience of integrated HR / Payroll systems
- Experience of HR / Payroll improvement or transition projects
- Good excel skills including the use of pivot tables and the ability to manipulate data extracts from the system for stakeholder reporting purposes
- Collaborator - able to work effectively as part of a team and contribute accordingly, but also able to work unsupervised
- Previous supervisory experience and excellent people skills -1 direct report
- Solutions focused
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
